Trophées des Jeunes Ambassadeurs Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes 2017 On Monday, April 11th the Grenoble Museum welcomed the traditional Gala evening and the award ceremony of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alps “Jeunes Ambassadeurs Contest”, a program that aims at contributing to the international outreach of our region.

21 University Jean Moulin students among whom 11 iaelyon students took part in the 2017 edition

Last spring 145 international students joined the “Jeunes Ambassadeurs” program to discover from October to April the economic, cultural, academic and institutional environment of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alps region, and thus become ambassadors of the territory throughout their future professional life.  To take part in the “Jeunes Ambassadeurs Contest”, every young ambassador had to develop a project linking the Auvergne-Rhône-Alps region with their home city in partnership with their mentors, CEOs and local stakeholders bringing their expertise and network into the mix.

The 1st prize goes to an iaelyon student

Gevorg Baghdasaryan, a first year Master’s Marketing and Sales Armenian student at iaelyon, University Jean Moulin, mentored by François-Xavier Pitance, Société des Anciennes Briqueteries de Limonest (Limonest former brickworks company) was awarded the first prize of the “Jeunes Ambassadeurs Contest” for his project “Le Coin du Mont-Blanc” (The Mont-Blanc corner”). His project was built on a reflection: How to galvanize the off-season activities in Tsakhkador, main ski resort in Armenia which is very touristic and close to Erevan but is only really operational three months per year?
The idea is in particular to organize in the framework of the Francophone Week in Armenia a discovery of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alps region by establishing in the resort a promotional chalet designed to sell local produces, to taste French dishes (raclette, fondue…), to organize sporting events, concerts, etc..
The event will involve volunteer students from UFAR (French University in Armenia), with which the University Jean Moulin has deep links.
Thanks to his creativity and his ability to defend his project during the oral and written exams, Gevorg convinced the members of the Contest Jury, made up of coaches from the 2017 Edition.
Gevorg explains: “The young ambassadors program was an outstanding experience. It allowed me to visit companies like Renault Trucks, to take part in events and to truly discover the region. Thanks to my coach, I had the chance to go skiing at Val d’Isère and to discover how a ski resort in France works. François Xavier Pitance was with me all along the way to support me and give me advice."

The “Achieved Projects” prize goes to an iaelyon Alumna

Lusine Arzumanyan, an iaelyon Alumna (Master’s in International Management, Ph.D. in Management) originally from UFAR (French University in Armenia) like Gevorg, was also awarded a brand new prize designed to reward projects that were achieved and perpetuated.
Lusine, former participant of the Young Ambassadors Program mentored by Thierry Bardet, Head of Administration at Tefal, SEB Group is the initiator of a Beaujolais Nouveau event in Erevan. Launched in 2010 and renewed in 2013 and 2016, the event aims at strengthening the dialogue between Lyon and Erevan around wine, both cities twinned since 1992 and historically home to vineyards. Lusine now an independent consultant, is the initiator of many events in favor of the development of French-Armenian relationships.
