In today's digital ecosystems, the value of information depends on a number of factors including the actors who have access to it, the business process where it is created and exchanged, and the technological infrastructure where it is stored and transmitted.
In this talk we discuss the notion of value models for business collaborations, their relations with the dynamic assessment of information value, and the corresponding notion of risk due to disclosure and information leaks. Such risk assessment can be used to graduate the degree of protection of information in a number of collaborative settings. Some practical techniques and a software prototype supporting the assessment of the risk of information misrepresentation in collaborative processes such as supply chains will also be presented.
