MEU (Model European Union) Vienna 2017: an iaelyon student selected to imagine a better Europe

Evènement | February 23, 2017

Alan ROW currently following an exchange program at VSE Prague within the framework of his Bachelor in Management was selected to take part in the simulation Model European Union (MEU) which will take place in Austria from February 23rd to February 26th.

Since 2007, the program offers participants the possibility to create a Model European Union relying on the actual European governance-bodies (European Commission, European Parliament and Council of the European Union). Organized this year at the University of Vienna with the support of the Commission and the European Parliament, the simulation is designed for people aged between 18 and 30 who have been pre-selected based on their path.
It is the case for Alan, an iaelyon student in Bachelor in Management specialized in Quantitative Techniques, who will have the pleasure to fly to Austria in order to launch a new community legislative proposal.  Alan explains: “My main motivations are to better understand the European frame which is often criticized but also largely misunderstood, and also to meet with people from all over the world.

Being already in touch with some of the other participants from Ukraine, Syria, Slovakia and other countries, I think that the event will help me broaden my horizons. Beyond that it was also a personal challenge to be selected in such a program considering the amount of applications and the restricted number of spots available.”
