EPAS is a quality accreditation system managed by the Foundation for Management Development.  As a European Organization recognized in the world of International Higher Education, EFMD plays a key-role in the European approach of Higher Education in the area of Management through its work on the implementation of international quality standards. The association has also become the main quality certification organism for Business Schools and Company Business Schools or Universities. Today, EMFD accounts for more than 750 members in 81 countries; 130 obtained the EQUIS quality label and 51 degrees from 40 Business Schools have been granted an EPAS accreditation.
 

The M.Sc. International Management: an IAE Lyon “Star” Degree

The M.Sc. International Management, one of the eight IAE Lyon Masters, is a degree which educates managers to be able to act and take decision on the international scene.
It offers four areas of specialization: Foreign Trade, International Business Management, International Affairs Management - European Perspectives and a full-English track Programme : European Business Realities - Europe Manager as well as a system of “à la carte” programme.
Activities led by faculty members within the Magellan Research Center International Management trans-disciplinary Research Group benefit teaching as they integrate state-of-the-art academic contents in the different teaching areas.

The M.Sc. International Management trains around 150 graduates per year, 30% of whom are international students. The Master’s international dimension rests on strong international teaching and case-studies content as well as on the international diversity of its students’ profiles and faculty. Partnerships developed with partner-universities such as VSE in Prague, the Università di Torino and the Università di Pavia in Italy, the Tamkang University in Taiwan allow students to prepare a double-degree. The M.Sc. International Management is also taught off-shore with HEM in Marocco and with Lingnan University College in China.

The accreditation confirms the degree’s international perspective and the careers it paves the way for, its balance between academic rigor and professional dimension as well as the quality of its students and teaching teams. The Peer Review Team has particularly appreciated the flexible programme design, allowing students to alternate internships and/or international immersion, to benefit from management courses taught in English and to create their own professional project getting help in accordance with their aspirations and their life choices. They have also stressed IAE Lyon’s strong local presence which is highly praised by companies as well as its numerous partnerships.
 

A confirmed international recognition

The EPAS label is a degree’s international independent evaluation which guarantees the highest international standards to content and organization. Granted on the basis of self-assessment report and after a Peer Review including interviews of around a hundred people  - Dean, Management Team, Faculty, students, alumni, partner companies, career services and business relations, quality unit -it allows the identification of progress key-areas leading, within the logics of continuous progress, to a “daily improvement” in the realization of activities and projects.

The renewal of the EPAS label again confirms companies in their recruitment choices, enhances the alumni degree and increases the degree’s attractiveness both nationally and internationally. Internally, it constitutes a strong incentive for change and continuous progress and goes well beyond the mere Master accreditation.
