6 iaelyon books were awarded by the FNEGE (French Foundation for Management Education) in 2018.

The Award Jury for Management Books published in 2017 (Certification 2018) met on February 2018 under the chairmanship of Hélène Rainelli-Weiss. Upon the 99 published books, 57 of them were awarded, six of those co-written or led by iaelyon researchers.

The ceremony for the Best Books in Management Award and Thesis in Management Prize will take place during the Management Week on May 23rd 2018 at 5.30 pm at the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris.

“Management International” (International Management), Hanane BEDDI and Sophie NIVOIX, Vuibert Editions

“International Management” is a synthetic book which explains the definitions and main concepts in International Management. Supported by many concrete and contemporary examples, the work provides a constructive, academic and detailed analytical approach. Designed in a managerial perspective, it offers a thematic division allowing to answer three main questions: Why go international? What tools to go international? Which specificities for the company going international?

Hanane BEDDI is an Associate Professor in Management at iaelyon, and a member of the International Management Team at iaelyon Magellan Research Center. She is co-director of the Master's in International Management and academic director of the second year of Master's in International Activities Management.

This collective book includes 12 case studies covering the main fields of marketing: analysis and strategic marketing, consumer behaviors, brand management, product policies, prices, supply and communication, cultural marketing, digital marketing, sport marketing, tourism marketing. 

Sylvie HERTRICH is a Researcher at EM Strasbourg - Université de Strasbourg. She is the Academic Director of the second year of Master’s in Marketing and Events Management.

Ulrike MAYRHOFER is a full Professor in Management at iaelyon, University Jean Moulin. She is Vice-Dean for Corporate Relations, Academic Director of the International MBA, and Head of the International Management Research team at iaelyon Magellan Research Center.

This book gives a full and contemporary insight based on several aspects of the concept of culture. The writer introduces the features of several national cultures and their management of time, space and communication. It gives many clues to deal more efficiently with intercultural situations in various cultural environments. “The DBA thesis project”, Paul BEAULIEU and Michel KALIKA, ems Edition. The collection of texts put together in the publication is mainly designed for candidates in an Executive DBA who need to be guided and oriented in the initial definition of their Research thesis project. It will enable them among others to introduce the different steps of the process of writing a detailed thesis proposal, to describe the different factors that make a good thesis statement, to clarify the roles and expectations that need to be taken on by the doctoral students when initiating their Research projects.

Michel KALIKA is a Full Professor at iaelyon School of Management - University Jean Moulin, the President of the Business Science Institute and co-director at the EFMD (The Management Development Network) - FNEGE (French Foundation for Management Education) of the Business School Impact System.

“Strategies of localization and creation of values of international mergers and acquisitions”, Ludivine CHALENÇON, ISTE Editions

The publication focuses on financial and international issues of mergers and acquisitions realized by big French groups. It also enhances the specificities of operations performed by mature and emerging countries. It has two parts: first a study on the choice of the acquirer to conduct operations in mature or emerging countries; then the identification of the determining features of performance in mergers and acquisitions.

Ludivine CHALENCON is an Associate Professor in Management at iaelyon - University Jean Moulin where she teaches corporate finance. She is the Academic Director of the second year of Master’s in Diagnostic and Organizational Auditing.

“New internationalization strategies of SMEs. Innovate to win new markets”. Noémie DOMINGUEZ, ISTE Editions.

The publication looks into the new internationalization strategies of SMEs and more specifically the gateways of strategies, an approach which consists in establishing oneself in a country in order to re-export to neighboring third markets. They allow SMEs to add value to their assets in mature and emerging countries but also to speed up their growth and to position within markets with a high potential for growth. 

Noémie DOMINGUEZ is an Associate Professor in Management at iaelyon - University Jean Moulin. She teaches international and strategic management. She is the co-director of the Research Chair “Internationalization of SMEs” at iaelyon, created in partnership with two industrial SMEs of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. She is also the Academic Director of the first year of International Business Realities.
