• Raise awareness about what is acceptable and not acceptable business practice according to legal and ethical standards in an intercultural context
• Explain different areas of illicit business practices (eg. counterfeiting, manufacturing and trading of illicit goods, cybercrime, money laundering…) and the role of the different stakeholders in the investigation process, including police, customs, prosecution services, the judiciary, revenue authorities, policy makers and brand owners
• Provide a better understanding of the relevant international legal framework
• The objective is that students gain a better understanding of illegal and / or unethical behavior in business; that they get a basic notion about the legal framework and that they learn how to act appropriately in a business situation where they might expose themselves, their co-workers, their company or other stakeholders of their business to danger and / or prosecution due to inappropriate behavior and / or reaction.
