Objectifs
This lecture deals with main topics of macroecomics. It discusses the questions that macroeconomists address, and the economist’s approach of building models to explain the world. In the first step we examine the long run, over which prices are flexible, and present the classical model of national income. The second step introduces the monetary system and some tools of monetary policy. In the third step, we propose the classical analysis of the economic dynamic with the tools of growth theory. Then, we examine the short run when price are flexible and present the IS-LM model. The last part is dedicated to issues related to the financial system.
