Objectifs

Georgraphic specificities : AFRICA AND EUROPE : a great challenge for business and new sustainable solutions.

Commercial and development players are joining forces to fund projects that will transform the African continent. 
Multinational firms and local organizations, working in a cross-cultural context, need new competences and skills, new approaches to achieve sustainable results and management of multicultural /diverse teams. 
The course will combine atheoretical understanding of intercultural challenges in business, but also in social/ sustainable economy, and a pragmatic implementation “on the field” .
The link between Europe and Africa looks more sustainable especially in the new development areas like renewables energies, digital technology but also in educating the future generations of managers. 
Our purpose is understanding the African double challenge, how  to combine business and social development , the contribution of the Europeans countriesin achieving  this goal .     
African Management, a new model?  The competences come from the Afri-can continent are various and should contribute to change our management model and perception of the business life.    
Doing business in Africa is a great challenge and opportunity for the western countries, at   the same time, a reach human and social experience .
Local and international partners and stakeholders ( Ngo’s  , International  Organizations ,,firms… ) work together following the PPP ( private-public partnership ) and respecting  the principles of the U.N.

Contenu

COURSE OUTLINE

Key points and sessions: 

1 Introduction 
Methodology: guidelines on how to write a bibliographical research and how to read an  academic article. 
Geopolitics and Africa news. Africa – Europe relations: the Cotonou agreement ( 2000-2010). 20 easy projects to launch in partnership with the European countries 

2. Cultural differences EU - Africa and how to optimize the impact of the diversity. Managing cross cultural teams. The 4 management theories: Western countries/ Europe and Africa. 

3. International cooperation for a fair economy. The PPP and the multi-stakeholder register (European and African) 

4. Gender equality and women empowerment. The influence of the in-ternational / European organizations and NGO’s 

5. Case studies: regular and social Business (Morocco, Senegal, South Africa). Create your own business Europe/Africa.
