Goals

This course provides knowledge on the links between theory and facts on international trade and commercial policy. Students analyze various aspects of companies' export and location choices including macroeconomic, monetary, political, social and commercial risks. From lectures to business cases and thematic presentations by groups, this course values students' involvement and oral participation.
Estimation of private study (outside of contact hours): 20 hours.

TARGETED KNOWLEDGE
  • Main macroeconomic models of international trade.
  • (Stylized) facts on international trade
  • Overview of geopolitical, technological, social and environmental aspects of trade.
Skills: ability to collect relevant data to analyze macroeconomic characteristics of countries and sectoral specificities, in order to adapt trade practices, notably export decisions.
