IEIS Graduate School Excellence Scholarship : Call for applications open until 20th March 2026

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS. Master 2 scholarship opportunity as part of the @iaelyon Graduate School "International Entrepreneurship and Innovation for Society (IEIS)"
About the IEIS Graduate School :
The IEIS Graduate School focuses on entrepreneurship and its potential to transform society. It gives its students the chance to develop the entrepreneurial skills that are essential for leading innovative and socially beneficial projects. At the same time, it enables high-level researchers to come together and work in complex, international contexts, where they can develop ambitious entrepreneurial projects and further strengthen their expertise.
Terms and conditions :
The IEIS Graduate School excellence Scholarship is open to foreign students, newcomers to iaelyon School of Management – University Jean Moulin Lyon 3, and living outside of France at the time of the application (French dual citizenship allowed).As previously stated, the scholarship is only available to foreign students who wish to apply for :
- Sustainable Management for International Business (SMIB) Master 2 Programme
- Etudes et Recherche en Management (ERM) Master 2 Programme
In addition to one of the two Master 2 programmes mentioned above, the scholarship is also conditional on completing the “Honours IEIS” course.
The scholarship amount is €1,000 per month for 10 months, i.e. €10,000 per year. Students who have been awarded a scholarship may also be eligible for a relocation grant of €2,000.
Details of the excellence course :
- Taking courses linked to five the teaching pillars : research, entrepreneurship, innovation, sustainable development, international ;
- Participation in two full seminars during iaelyon International Week ;
- Conducting research for the CREATE team on the theme of the Graduate IEIS (integration into the Magellan research laboratory) ;
- Writing a Master’s Thesis connected to the Graduate IEIS theme.

- A dynamic and cosmopolitan research environment, with close links to the major international research and teaching networks and conferences in the management field (AIMS, AOM, AEI, AIREPME, EIASM, etc.) ;
- Invitations to events, such as the Graduate IEIS Winter School, organized in partnership with the International Week at iaelyon school of management ;
- Opportunities for research placements at the Magellan Laboratory or potentially at another academic institution in France or abroad;
- Participate in the pre-incubation program offered by Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3
Graduate+ offers 15 transdisciplinary thematic programmes of excellence from undergraduate to doctoral level, intensive immersion into the world of research, scholarships for international students and scholarships for international mobility.

How to apply
Candidates must submit their application as a single PDF file to the following address: melanie.montcharmont@univ-lyon3.fr The application must include :
- Proof of higher education diplomas: Bachelor's degree and first year of Master's degree (240 ECTS for European students);
- Curriculum Vitae (one page);
- Motivation letter (one page) explaining the applicant’s career goals, how this Master's programme will help them to achieve these goals, their research interests and motivations for joining iaelyon School of Management ;
- Transcripts of records from Bachelor’s degree onwards ;
- If applicable, abstracts of the candidate's previous work (e.g. dissertation, book, internship report, scientific article,etc.) ;
- Certificate of English level (TOEFL, IELTS, ECRL etc.), except for native English speakers or students who have studied in English for at least two years (minimum level B2)
- Knowledge of French would be appreciated ;
- A copy of an official identity document;
- Any other document that is deemed relevant to assessing the application.
IMPORTANT : At least one letter of recommendation must be sent separately to the following address: melanie.montcharmont@univ-lyon3.fr. This letter has to be written by a former or current professor, lecture, tutor or supervisor.
This letter must be submitted by the referee and not by the applicant directly.
Award criteria :
- Excellence of the academic background
- Internship experience and technical skills in research
- Motivation and consistency of the professional project
- Level of French and English
Timetable
- Applications deadline: 20th March 2026
- Interviews: End of April, beginning of May
- Notification of results to applicants: Beginning of May
