1st Learning Expedition in New York for the DSCG students

Published on April 11, 2024 Updated on April 11, 2024

From April 8th to 12th, 24 students enrolled in the First and Second year of the Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Management at iaelyon visit several New York companies in the framework of a learning expedition organized in partnership with the French-American Chamber of Commerce of New York.

This study trip, coordinated by Laurence Cohen, program director of the DSCG-DUSCG* and Sophie Cauchy, English professor, is supported by the partners of CLEA - iaelyon (Lyonnais Centre of Accounting Expertise and Auditing).

The learning expeditions aims at:
  • Immersing students in a full-English environment for a whole week, strengthening their English proficiency
  • Deepening the student’s knowledge of advanced Business English vocabulary, evaluated at the UC6 of the DSCG program
  • Broadening student’s horizons on cross-cultural business practices, giving them the possibility to distinguish themselves in the job market

This initiative consolidates several pedagogical directions recently made in the field of Accounting to strengthen students’ openness to the word. Due to the DSCG – DUSCG programs’ structures, students who enroll in these programs do not have the possibility to participate in the conventional international mobility programs.

Beyond the learning expedition, DSCG students are now participating in the iaelyon International Week. They have the opportunity to attend one seminar from a list of 73 seminars lectured by professors from foreign Management Schools and Universities.
