Executive Education: 1st Learning Expedition in Washington DC
From the 11th to the 14th July 2023, 9 iaelyon Executive Education participants had the possibility to go to Washington DC in order to take part in a learning expedition organized along with The Washington, DC Chapter of the French-American Chamber of Commerce. A first successful collaboration.
It was the ideal opportunity for participants to sharpen their understanding of the American ecosystem, in particularly the specifies and functioning of the French organizations located in the United States. The group, in the company of Sylvianne Lusseau, Program Administration Officer at iaelyon, had the opportunity to visit several international companies throughout the week such as Fresh Baguette or even Airbus and to exchange with the collaborators of start-ups such as Gardyn.
The prestigious George Washington University has also opened its doors to the participations of the learning expedition. Posterior to the visit of the campus, the group was greeted by Bob Smith, Director of the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the University.
A visit of the Capitol
The participants had also the occasion to discover American politics in virtue of the visit of the French Embassy in Washington as well as a visit of the Capitol. They also had the prestige to exchange with a few members of the Congress: Madam Dina Titus, serving the District of Nevada and Bill Keating, representative of Massachusetts at the United States House of Representatives. The participants also explored the American capital and its emblematic markers: The White House, the Air and Space Museum, the Georgetown neighborhood.
The week ended with the celebration of the French national day, on the 14th of July, at the French Embassy where the group met French expats living in Washington.
A warm thank you to Denis CHAZELLE and his team for the organization of this learning expedition. We also thank all the people involved who made themselves available to be with the group.
“I am delighted with the marvelous week we spent in Washington: the schedule allowed us to discover the city and its multiple features; meeting startupers and representatives of well-known international enterprise as well as representatives of both French and American administration in an environment that is both friendly, relaxed and professional.”
Stated Régis ARBANT, a member of the International MBA Class of 2023.
