The Bachelor’s in Business Management discovers the corporate management, the management of associations and start-ups
Carrier, Oqoro and “Sport dans la Ville” opened their doors to 48 first-year students in Business Management as part of the "Insight into the corporate world" course. A successful experience that helped to overcome some prejudices and open up the field of possibilities in terms of career prospects.
The course “Insight into the corporate world” allows students to better understand their future professional environment by exploring different types of organizations. As part of their supervised project, students were in charge of setting up three visits to meet managers from various structures and sectors of activity.
Carrier, a journey at the core of an innovative industrial company
The first immersion took place in Montluel, at the headquarters of Carrier France, one of the world leaders in heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems. The students had the opportunity to visit a high-tech industry and to talk with representatives of the company's main functions. These passionate speakers (Key Account Manager, Finance Manager, HR Manager, etc.) took turns explaining their role within this major industrial group. These testimonies have aroused the curiosity and interest of students on the diversity and richness of the jobs presented.
We would like to thank the Carrier employees who warmly welcomed the group of students and in particular Amaury Deroche, Ségolène Archange, Damien Vergoin, Audrey Cavaillon-Pinod, Louise Vincent, Laëtitia Azulay and Laëtitia Baron.
Oqoro, focus on an ambitious start-up
Oqoro also opened the doors of its vast open space in Lyon to some of the Bachelor’s students to present them the entirely digitalized rent management activity. With a Label French Tech & Lyon Startup, Oqoro is made of 70 employees.
We would like to thank Benjamin Fricker and Victoria Mathieu, in charge of human resources, who presented all the jobs that make up this young and dynamic team. A stimulating work environment, combining productivity and good humor, which seduced many students.
Sport dans la ville, integrating through sport
For 24 years, Sport dans la Ville has been the main association for integration through sport in France. The last group of students had the opportunity to visit the association's headquarters in Vaise to immerse themselves in the associative environment and to project themselves professionally in a structure such as this one, carrying strong values. Thanks to the inspiring accounts of Mamadou Doumbia, territorial sports manager, Adrien Theis, regional campus and infrastructure manager, and Jessica Noel, regional director of “Job dans la ville”, the students were able to interact with them about their experience as managers in an association. The teams of the Bachelor’s in Business Management and the students would like to thank all these guests for the quality of their welcome and their investment in these visits. It was a real educative exercise for the students who were in charge of this initiative and a beneficial experience for all in the construction of their professional integration and network.
