Official appointment: Marie-Christine CHALUS is the new President of the IAE FRANCE network

Marie-Christine CHALUS, Dean of iaelyon School of Management since September 2023, is the first women to be elected at the head of the national IAE network, gathering together 38 University-based Schools of Management. Unanimously elected during the IAE FRANCE AGORA, which took place in Lille between July 3 and July 5, 2024, she succeeds Eric LAMARQUE, Dean of IAE Paris-Sorbonne, who presided over the network for 6 years, from 2018 to 2024.

IAE FRANCE is today the first public network of higher education and research in Management. The IAE (Instituts d’Administration des Entreprises – Business Administration Institutes) were created in the 1950’s on the Harvard Business School model. Since then, the IAE haven’t stopped developing in order to become real public University-based Schools of Management.
These 38 schools, spread across the country, gather more than 53 000 students. The IAE deliver more than 1 200 state-registered diplomas (Bachelor, Master’s, Doctorate, MBA) in all fields of Management (Marketing, Trade, Finance, Human Resources, Accounting, Management Control, Auditing, Public Management, Strategy, International affairs, Logistics, Purchasing…).
As the most important origin of Research on Management Sciences, the IAE are linked with 38 laboratories and research teams. Being internationally involved, the IAE welcome each year more than 5 000 international students and they have developed partnerships in more than 80 countries where more than 4 000 French students are studying.

Marie-Christine Chalus, 14th President of the IAE FRANCE network

Marie‐Christine Chalus is Dean of iaelyon School of Management – Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 since September 2023.
She joins the iaelyon in 2013 after several experiences in France and abroad (Université Lyon 1, Université Grenoble-Alpes, Baruch College in New-York, USA and HEC Montréal, Canada).

Since 2023 she is also Entrepreneurship Policy Officer for the Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3.

She is Manager of the Teaching and Strategy Research Department as well as directing the Graduate + International Entrepreneurship and Innovation for Society (Winner of the SFRI / ANR project).

As a recognized researcher and entrepreneurship specialist, she is the Vice-President in charge of developing the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Academy (Académie de l’Entrepreneuriat et de l’Innovation, Paris). She founded and leads CREATE, an applied in entrepreneurship research team (more than twenty researchers, including international researchers).
She is the author of several works (including “Veille Stratégique à l’usage des décideurs”, as well as in co-coordination of “La résilience entrepreneuriale en période de risque et de crise”) and regularly publishes in renowned French and international journals.

She is very much involved in socioeconomic environments: she has been the President of the SEPL (Société d’Economie Politique et Sociale de Lyon - Political and Social Economy Society of Lyon) and co-created the Lyon office of the Femmes Business Angels de Lyon (Women Business Angels of Lyon). She worked in the private sector for 7 years by supporting the creation of businesses.
