iaelyon Junior Council discovers the UN in Geneva

Published on June 22, 2023 Updated on June 22, 2023

On May 1st, 20 members of the iaelyon Junior Conseil association set off to discover the Palais des Nations and the Old Town of Geneva, Switzerland's largest historic city. It was the opportunity for the members of the Junior Entreprise to strengthen their relationships and to end the 2022-2023 mandate in a convivial and instructive setting.

Organized by the Human Resources Department of the association, the trip enabled students to familiarize themselves with the organization of the various bodies of this historic institution, and to better understand how they work towards peace, freedom and the rights of all. The second part of the day included a tour of Geneva, followed by a boat trip on Lake Geneva.

"This day spent in the heart of the emblematic City of Peace was an opportunity for the group to visit the UN and discover its secrets thanks to a guide: The Hall of Human Rights and the Alliance of Civilizations, the "Hall of the lost steps", the Assembly Hall, but also the largest room in the Palais des Nations, the Council Chamber, the scene of many important negotiations, as well as a movie presenting the UN's activities and objectives.
I'm delighted to have shared this moment with the team. It was a great opportunity to improve the cohesion of the group!"

Julie Egron, student in Master 2 in Human Resources Management and Organization and President of iaelyon Junior Conseil.
