Published on October 5, 2022 – Updated on November 8, 2022
The EFMD program accreditation was granted by the EFMD Accreditation Board on September 27, 2022. iaelyon thus obtains confirmation of the recognition granted by the EFMD to the MSc. in International Management since 2008.
The EFMD Program Accreditation confirms corporations in their choice to recruit graduates, enhances the value of the alumni network and increases the attractiveness of the degree towards students and partners, both nationally and internationally. Internally, the process is a lever for change for the whole school, beyond the sole accredited program.
The EFMD Program Accreditation System is an international accreditation of the EFMD, awarded after a peer review of the program. The label guarantees that the content and delivery comply with the highest international standards for management degrees.
The EFMD is one of the world's two leading accreditation bodies for business schools and universities. It plays a key role in the context of higher education and management research by working to develop international quality standards. To date, the EFMD has more than 970 members in 90 countries, and 132 programs from 103 business schools are accredited by the EFMD.
The MSc. in International Management is one of the twelve master's degrees offered by iaelyon. This degree educates managers who are experts in actions and decisions in an international context.
It offers 5 tracks: Foreign Trade, Management of International Activities, European Business Manager, International Business Realities (entirely taught in English) and an individualized program (international “à la carte” track).
The activities run by the scholars within the International Management research team of the Magellan - iaelyon research center feed into the courses that incorporate the major advances in knowledge in International Business. Business cases, the involvement of practitioners and the integration of compulsory internships in the curriculum provide practical dimensions that resonate with theoretical skills.
The MSc. in International Management is organized over two years, with two tracks (English or French language) during the first year. It educates 100 to 150 graduates per year on the Lyon campus, 30% of whom are international students. The international dimension of the Master's degree is very present, both in the diversity of the students' profiles and the faculty, as well as in the international character of the course content, case studies and double-degree opportunities via six specific partnerships with: the VSE University in Prague (EQUIS and EFMD accredited), the Universities of Pavia and Torino, the Universities of Bamberg and Tübingen, and the University of Tamkang.
The accreditation confirms the international perspective of the degree and of the careers for which it prepares, the balance between academic and practice, the integration of the CSR dimensions as well as the quality of the students and the teaching.
This recognition fosters iaelyon's development objectives, to keep extending its influence and rank among internationally recognized schools of Management, both at a national and international level.
The Management Team of iaelyon, the program’s directors and the Quality-Accreditation Division would like to thank all those who have actively contributed to the renewal of the EFMD accreditation of the MSc, the fruitful result of a collective and valuable work for everyone.
