EFMD Accredited MSc - Master in International Management

This reaccreditation was awarded by the EFMD Accreditation Board on September 23, 2025. It highlights the quality of the programs, stakeholder satisfaction, and the school's efforts on continuous improvement. iaelyon has thus obtained confirmation of the recognition granted to its Master's in International Management since 2008.

Recognition for the program's stakeholders

The accreditation process was based on the completion of a self-assessment report and the drafting of a student report. It was supplemented by a series of in-depth interviews, organized from May 12 to 14, 2025, bringing together more than fifty internal and external stakeholders: management team, faculty, students, graduates, partner companies, and support services (careers and corporate relations, international, quality, communication, documentary resources, and digital education support).

The peer-reviewers particularly highlighted:
  • the clarity and sharing of strategic objectives, as well as the strength of collective dynamics,
  • the attractiveness of the program and the enthusiasm of external partners to collaborate with iaelyon,
  • the quality of the balance between theory and practice,
  • the satisfaction expressed by alumni,
  • and the remarkable commitment of the teams they met.

This recognition strengthens iaelyon in its objectives of development and influence among internationally recognized management schools.
It reinforces companies' choices in recruiting students and graduates, enhances the value of our alumni's career paths, and increases the attractiveness of the degree among students and academic partners, both in France and abroad.
Internally, this process is an opportunity to highlight our strengths, while opening up new prospects for continuous improvement beyond the scope of the accredited program.

An international accreditation awarded by the EFMD to more than a hundred programs around the world

The EFMD Program Accreditation System is an international accreditation awarded by the EFMD following a peer review of the program. The label guarantees that the content and delivery of the program meet the highest international standards for management degrees.

The EFMD is one of the two main global accreditation bodies for management schools and corporate universities. It plays a key role in higher education and management and research by developing international quality standards. To date, the EFMD has nearly 960 members in 90 countries, and nearly 140 programs worldwide are accredited by the EFMD.

The Master's in International Management

The Master's in International Management is one of twelve Master's programs offered by iaelyon. This degree educates managers to be experts in actions and decisions in an international context.

It offers five tracks:
The activities carried out by faculty members at the Magellan @iaelyon research laboratory feed into courses that incorporate major advances in international business knowledge. Case studies, presentations by practitioners, and mandatory internships in the curriculum provide practical experience that complements theoretical skills.

The Master's in International Management is organized over two years, with two tracks (English or French) during the first year. It educates 100 to 150 graduates per year on the Lyon campus, 30% of whom are international students.

The international dimension of the Master's program is very present, both in the diversity of student and faculty profiles and in the international nature of the course content, case studies, and opportunities for dual degrees through six partnerships with: VSE University in Prague (EQUIS and EFMD accredited), the Universities of Pavia and Turin, the Universities of Bamberg and Tübingen, and Tamkang University.

The accreditation confirms the international perspective of the degree and the careers it prepares students for, the balance between academic rigor and the professional dimension of the teaching, the integration of CSR dimensions, and the high quality of the students and teaching.
